I started the MFA in Media Art program at Emerson College in the Fall of 2009 with no background in media art. It’s kicking my ass and I love it.
What I’m learning:
Documentary Film
New Media
The Subject Matter:
Self Expression
(Post)-Race
Post-Modern Queer + Transgender Identities
Music Cultures
Digital Subcultures
Here are a few pieces from my portfolio that I’m not too ashamed to show you. 1 year down. 2 more to go…

WHY I’LL NEVER RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE, 2010
This is an interactive Flash project that took me forever to do. Some of the audio compressed for some reason, but otherwise, I love how it turned out!

CUT & PASTE, 2010
“Cut&Paste is a ten-minute documentary exploring the process of zine-making both directly through the filmmakers personal experiences of making a zine and then releasing it into the wild, and via the voices and work of other Boston zinesters. The result reveals intimately how and why these independent publications are made.”

Hi D’hana. I just wanted to say hi and let you know it was a pleasure being your classmate at emerson. This was my last semester there, so I am back in the world looking for a job.
I’m glad you posted some of your emerson work on your site. That is a necessary step in getting recognized, even if it is not your seminal work yet. I going to continue to look for new stuff in the future.
I wish you the best in your future endeavors at emerson and in life.
Best,
louisd
Thank you Louis! Likewise!
