DAILY PORN
I’m producing a performance for the “Daily Porn” exhibit at the Lucky Gallery in Brooklyn on Saturday March 6th and I’m so very excited! Artists Lisette Murphy of Rogue Femme Art and the almighty Suhayl are joining forces with me to design this spectacular closing party. It will be a naughty visual and aural experience that you won’t want to miss. If you’re going to be in the NYC area that weekend, you should definitely come though.
A little about the exhibit:
Show opens Feb 13th – (Valentines Day Weekend) closes March 7th
“Daily Porn” is an installation of
* Books – PULP novels http://www.grrl.com/sleaze.html
* Imagery – drawings by Iulia Toacaci, Archie Porn by Mark Mulroney http://www.markmulroney.com/,
* Kaleidescopes by Tara Sinn http://babydinosaureyes.com/kaleidoscopes.html,
* Bag One Drawing from John Lennon http://www.artcelebs.com/lennon_pg2.htm
* Sculpture (window neon sign/ lightbox “Oh Christ, I just wanted you to fuck me but than I became greedy and wanted you to love me” by Morgan Miller after Tracey Emin’s neon piece with the same title),
* Performance – Alix Sorrell “live” sex drawings on printed cards
The idea of “Daily Porn” is based around the concept of eroticism, erotic imagery and people’s relation/ reaction to it.
The oldest surviving examples of erotic depictions are Paleolithic cave paintings and carvings, but many cultures have approached the subject of eroticism and human sexuality. Erotic depictions have gone from being a luxury item for the few (Greeks and Romans) to a propaganda tool and then an everyday commodity. We continue to create, display, question and enjoy images of desire (as humans part of a culture/society), whether openly or sequestered.
“Daily Porn” aims to explore and define what is erotic and titillating to different creative individuals, to display a diversity of sensibilities and approaches that range from humorous, raunchy, to the personal, and the intimate.

Utero-A-GoGo
Our pal Aliza Shapiro of Truth Serum Productions (TraniWreck, Heywood Wakefield, CineMental, tons of really good shows and benefits, and all around good guy) has been helping make Boston a better place since 1994 and now she’s in need. She recently found out she has to have a medically necessary surgery and can’t afford the downtime the surgery will cause. We, her friends, fellow performers and community, are coming together to raise money to help get her though this difficult time.
There are two benefits planned and if you can’t make it to either, feel free to donate via PayPal to uteroagogo@gmail.com
